Hands-On Kit

Scroll down for more information before selecting a ticket option

We're sorry, but all tickets sales have ended because the event is expired.

Though we unfortunately cannot offer full summer camps this year, we are pleased to offer hands-on STEM experiences! We will mail STEM kits to your students that we can do together during a pre-scheduled zoom session.

Once you register, we’ll mail you a kit that we’ll do in a 1-hour zoom session!

For July, we’ll be dissecting owl pellets! Following a brief introduction to owls and owl pellets, students will get to dissect their own owl pellet and get started gluing together the bones they find into a skeleton.

Tuesday, July 13: 1pm-2pm
Thursday, July 15: 7pm-8pm
Tuesday, July 20: 2pm-3pm
Thursday, July 22: 7pm-8pm

*Note: All Times are Pacific (California) Time

Details:

  • Completely free, with optional donation
  • Registration is monthly—you will need to register each month if you want to do the activity for the following month. We will send out notifications when registration opens up
  • Each session can hold a max of 40 students. Registration is first-come, first-served and will have a waitlist if necessary
  • Activities are planned for students ages ~10-14. Younger students are welcome to register and attend, but might need some adult guidance to complete the activities.
  • We actively work to overcome financial barriers to participation in STEM education. We are able to offer this summer activity at no cost due to the generosity of the Winnifred Johnson Clive Foundation. If you are able to contribute via an optional donation, you can support the continued efforts of the Buck Institute to provide inclusive and dynamic STEM opportunities for our community. After registering, please go to our Support Page and select 2021 Summer STEM Education. We are grateful for your support of STEM.
