Buck Institute for Research on Aging

A video of this event is now available

Much can be done to nurture and protect your gray matter as you age – and this is the event that can help you do that!  Dr. Ram Rao of the Buck Institute has spent more than 15 years studying age-related neurodegeneration with a special emphasis on Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. John Arden has over 40 years of experience providing psychological services and directing mental health programs and is the author of several books, including The Brain Bible.

Rammohan Rao, PhD is an Associate Research Professor interested in neuronal cell death and mechanisms of age-associated neurodegenerative diseases. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed scientific journals including a recent study that highlighted genes associated with increased risk for Alzheimer’s. Dr. Rao has applied his research to develop tips for reversing memory loss.  He is also a certified Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist and is a dedicated Yoga practitioner and teacher.

John B. Arden, PhD, is the Chief Academic Officer for the Institute for Brain Potential.  His study of neuropsychology has inspired him to integrate neuroscience and psychotherapy, synthesizing the biological and psychological into a new vision for psychotherapy: Brain-Based Therapy. He conducts seminars throughout the U.S. and the world. His system incorporates current brain science with psychotherapy research, mindfulness, nutritional neuroscience and social intelligence.
