The Buck Institute welcomes the generosity of donors who are considering bequests and other planned gifts. It was just such a gift from Beryl Buck that led to the founding of the Institute, meeting her desire "to extend help toward the problems of the aged," by creating a research organization that is "of national and international importance and significance [and] beneficial to all humankind."
Bequests and other planned gifts represent a thoughtful decision to address the needs of the elderly for decades to come through research to extend the healthy years of life. We encourage you to inform the Institute of your plans, and to permit us to express our gratitude to you now, rather than later to your executors. With permission, the commitment of planned gifts is recognized through membership in the Live Oak Society, formed in 2004.
Live Oak Society members receive the Institute's newsletter, Healthspan, advance notices of seminars and events, recognition in our Honor Roll of Donors, and invitations to informal gatherings held exclusively to keep donors up to date on important scientific discoveries.
