The Buck Institute's Annual Fund raises money from private individuals and businesses to support ongoing operational expenses. The term "annual" reflects the use of the fund for annual operating budgeted expenses, and the commitment of the donor to renew the gift each year.
Annual Fund gifts are used to purchase needed equipment for laboratories, train young scientists entering the field, and encourage experienced scientists to take new risks. In addition to direct support of laboratories, Annual Fund gifts support programs that develop outstanding young scientists, improve the teaching of science throughout the North Bay, and offer valuable educational programs to the community.
Donors to the Annual Fund have an immediate impact on the future of aging by helping scientists prevent and treat disabling conditions, such as Alzheimer's disease, cancer, and Parkinson's.
Donors receive the Institute's newsletter, advance notice of community seminars, invitations to donor-only events and recognition on our Honor Roll of Donors. Most important, donors to the Institute's Annual Fund receive satisfaction from knowing that they're helping scientists discover new ways to add healthy years to our lives.
